Room 2 - week 7 and 8 Term 1 :)

Another fun filled 2 weeks of learning!!!  Last week we had our school Gala which we all loved - so much fun and yummy food - thanks PTA and everyone who helped put the Gala together!!

Week 7:

This week we had ERO come and visit the school.  We've had lots of great positive feedforward from the team and enjoyed having them visit us.  Then on Wednesday we had 4 of our class represent the school at the Waikato District Swimming Competition.  Well done all of you - we're very proud of you!!! :)

Here are some photos of Room 2 having some PE fun this week - thanks Miss Malone for the cool game idea on a wet day!! :)

Room 2 is on assembly in Week 9, so this week we started practicing our dance item - it'll be a fun item to watch!!!

The joke of the week from Room 2 is from Iona Mortimer:

Why can't a T-rex clap?
Because it's dead.

Week 7's home learning has been emailed to the students and paper copies are on Ms Trow's desk :). I look forward to reading your thoughts, comments, ideas and most of all your jokes :).

Have an awesome week everyone :)

Week 8:

This week we had Hockey Fun day on Tuesday and Parent-Teacher interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday.  If you missed these, or would like to see me at anytime, please feel free to call or see me at school. :)

This week's joke of the week is from Kalim Thomson:

Why do french people eat snails?
Because they don’t like fast food.

This week's home learning will be emailed out and paper copies will be available from class by Wednesday (due to Hockey Funday being all day Tuesday :) ).

Next Friday of week 9, Room 2 is hosting our school assembly ..... we are doing a dance item and have been practicing alot - we hope you can join us and enjoy our item as much as we do :) I will be putting some pre-practicing photos on here next week - as well as a video of us on the day if you miss it.

Have an awesome week everyone - we're on Easter break Good Friday (this Friday) and return to school Wednesday - we have Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday of next week on Easter break.

Have a wonderful, happy and safe Easter everyone. :)

We had an amazing time at camp last week - it was adventure packed and lots of fun :)

Many, many thanks to Mr Spicer, Miss Wilson, Mrs Hayes, Mrs D and all the parent help who made our 2016 camp possible :)

Week 5 we had:
  • Cricket skills practice:  Monday
  • Ripper Rugby skills practice:  Wednesday
  • District Swimming on Thursday

Good luck to all our swimmers representing our school :)

This week Room 2 has started our Home Learning.  These have been emailed to students and paper (hard) copies are available in class also.

In week 6 we had:

  • ASB finanical literacy lessons - we had a fun lesson where we learnt all about spending and saving
  • Thames Valley swimming sports - well done to all our swimmers representing our school! :)
Our class joke of the week from our home learning is from Summer Hannah:

How do you get a tissue to dance?
- Put a little boogie in it :) :)

Home learning for week 7 has been emailed to all students - and there are paper copies in class if they prefer.  This is due back to Ms Trow by Monday night.

Thursday is our school gala - see you all there!!!

Room 2's self portraits

We created our self-portraits by using A3 black and white photocopied photos of us.  Then we coloured ourselves using either cold or warm colours.  The background was then a pattern in either cold or warm colours - the opposite of what we used for ourselves.  To finish we wrote words about ourselves and stuck them around our portraits.  They look awesome!!! :)

Week 3 and 4 in Room 2:

Very exciting events coming up in Room 2 in weeks 3 and 4..... Thursday 18 February 2016, week 3 = School SWIMMING SPORTS :)

and Week 4 = Year 7 and 8 SCHOOL CAMP!!! :)

Please ensure all students have returned their camp medical forms, and that camp fees have been paid - or that you have contacted the school to discuss payment :)

Staff and students are all looking forward to an awesome, fun time at Camp!! :)

Room 2 meets Mrs Mitchell.

Today room 2 met Mrs Mitchell, the other teacher in room 2 next term. As of next term Mr Spicer will be taking on the role of deputy principal. This means he will be teaching in room 2 for 3 days a week whilst Mrs Mitchell will be teaching the other 2 days. Mrs Mitchell is very nice and room 2 can't wait to have her as a teacher.
